Samaritan Behavioral Health, Inc. Young Children’s Assessment and Treatment Services (YCATS)

In September, Messer Construction Foundation presented Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation and Samaritan Behavioral Health, Inc. with a check for $25,000 to fund the renovation of the Young Children’s Assessment and Treatment Services classroom. For over 35 years, Samaritan Behavioral Health’s Young Children’s Assessment and Treatment Services (YCATS) has been an advocate for young children who need a champion, someone who can give them the tools they need to build a bright future.

Samaritan Behavioral Health, Inc. is the only organization in the area offering mental health services to the preschool population in a group setting specifically for children that have been expelled from preschool due to behavioral concerns.

Thanks to the generosity of the Messer Construction Foundation, YCATS will receive a much-needed renovation. This project will have a lasting positive impact on the learning environment at YCATS, where the root causes of behavior are identified and addressed in a classroom-like environment, preparing at-risk children for reintegration into a school setting and to succeed in school and in life. The bathroom will be updated to accommodate small children and the entire space will be redesigned to increase ventilation and temperature regulation. The sight lines throughout the space will also be improved to increase safety and behavioral data collection processes. Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation would like to thank Messer Construction Foundation for their passion for this project and their very generous support.
